Produced by Republic Pictures, Radar Men from the Moon is a 12-chapter science fiction serial that epitomizes the energetic, low-budget thrills of early 1950s space adventure. Directed by Fred C. Brannon, it stars George D. Wallace as Commando Cody, a jetpack-wearing hero tasked with saving Earth from lunar invaders.
Plot Summary
Earth is under attack by mysterious forces using advanced weapons. The source? The Moon. The villainous Retik, ruler of the Moon, plans to conquer Earth using radar-controlled atomic weaponry. Enter Commando Cody, scientist and adventurer, who dons a rocket-powered flying suit and travels to the Moon to stop Retik and his henchmen.
Each chapter features cliffhangers, fistfights, ray guns, and rocket flights, as Cody battles saboteurs on Earth and alien forces on the Moon. The serial blends space opera, spy thriller, and superhero tropes, with Cody acting as a proto-Iron Man figure decades before the Marvel icon.
