Directed by Bernard Vorhaus and shot by legendary cinematographer John Alton, The Amazing Mr. X—also known as The Spiritualist—is a stylish blend of film noir and supernatural thriller. With its moody lighting, seaside setting, and themes of grief and deception, the film stands out as a B-movie that punches well above its weight.
